Pre-Purchase Inspection

At Alpine Mechanical Service we can’t emphasize enough the importance of having a vehicle pre-purchase inspection PRIOR to purchasing your new, second-hand car. It is highly recommended before you purchase a used vehicle, to have an independent mechanical inspection or “pre-purchase” inspection carried out. This will give you peace of mind; you’ll know exactly what condition the vehicle is in before you buy it, so there won’t be any nasty surprises. People often think that if a vehicle has a safety certificate, it means the vehicle has been fully inspected and in good condition. Unfortunately this is not the case.

A safety certificate inspection is NOT a comprehensive mechanical inspection of a vehicle.

We have seen time and time again, the disappointment our customers face when they have their car checked or serviced after they have already purchased it. In some cases we have inspected a vehicle, only to find hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars needed to be spent to bring the vehicle up to scratch. Once you have purchased the vehicle, it is usually too late if any problems are found.

As you can see, it takes a lot of parts to make a car, and that’s potentially a lot of problems if some of these parts are worn out or broken. So why wouldn’t you have a professional check them out?

Getting a pre-purchase inspection is the MOST IMPORTANT thing to do BEFORE you purchase a vehicle. This inspection could potentially save you thousands. So why wouldn’t you have a professional check them out?
